Yeah, you read that right. We’re on the hunt for a Wasteman or Wastegal to join our crew in Hackney Wick.
We’re Are You Mad – the Waste Design Studio showcasing first hand systems change in action. We’re changing the narrative of what a recycler looks like, and that could be you. We don’t care about your CV as much as we care about your mindset. If you’re hands-on, curious, and not afraid to get stuck in and figure things out, then you might just be the person we need.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Getting Your Hands Dirty: We’re talking real graft. You’ll be under the hood, figuring stuff out, and making things happen.
Mastering Machines: You’ll learn how to use all the gear – shredders, injectors, moulders – to turn plastic and textile waste into jaw-dropping objects and furniture.
R&D Crew Member: We’re elevating waste as a design material. You’ll be part of the team finding new ways to push boundaries and make it happen.
Workshops and Education: You’ll help run workshops with schools, universities, and some of the world’s biggest brands. From London to LA, you’ll be showing people how to see waste differently.
Who We’re Looking For:
Hands-On and Hungry to Learn: You don’t mind getting your hands dirty and you love figuring things out.
Creative Problem Solver: You’re not afraid of a challenge and you think outside the (recycling) box.
Team Player with Grit: We move fast, and we do it together. You’re up for the ride.
No Experience Necessary: If you’ve got the right attitude, we’ll teach you the rest.
Pay and Hours:
London Living Wage: £13.85 per hour (Time and a half after 8pm)
Shift-Based Work: Monday to Friday
Some evening and weekend work may be needed (we’re not a 9-to-5 kind of place).
